Step 1: Decide whether your curtains will be fitted on a pole or a track.
Your curtain length will be from the top of the track to wherever you want them to finish ie: the window cill or the floor or somewhere in-between.
Measuring from the top of the track ensures that the track is covered when the curtains are drawn.
The finished width of the curtains will be the width of the track if you already have one fitted or alternatively at least 3″ or 10cm beyond the edges of the window.
B) Measuring curtains for a pole.
Your curtain length will be from the bottom of the curtain rings to wherever you want them to finish ie, the cill or the floor or somewhere inbetween.
This will ensure that the pole is still visible when the curtains are drawn. The width should be that of the pole if you already have it fitted or at least 3″/10cm beyond the edge of the window.
If you have neither a track or pole already fitted, decide where it will be placed and measure accordingly – click here for our selection of tracks and poles.
